Finally! eMulePlus has always been the best looking and most userfriendly spin-off client of eMule in my opinion. All that was lacking was Unicode support and with this eMulePlus should certainly be worth another look again.

They had time to implement Kad feature and protocol obfuscation , they made nothing ,
and it is a sin because this program was very neat back at 1 year ago .

Stopped using eMule Plus about nearly a year ago. Have swapped to Neomule as eMule Plus lacks Kad and obfuscation. Neomule allows me to connect to more low IDs through my router. I give this 3 stars though as while it's very good, it just no longer cuts the mustard for me.

I agree. Mods don't provide a better speed than eMule. Only some silly tools, GUI improvements and stupid features e.g. funny nicknames.
I don't understand why people use mods.

For me eMule Plus is the best p2p program.

eMule Plus and aMule are forks of the original client, not mods like Xtreme and Morph.

Xtreme, Morph and other mods use emule code and add some features without changing the original code.

eMule plus is developed without using the code of emule.

@kashin: That's why kashin, e+ has a different version cycling than eMule.

I don't also think that eMule has more often updates than eMule Plus. eMule has an update every year.

Why is this client called eMule Plus when they actually remove features from the official codebase, such as KAD? I think it should be called eMule Minus. I'm also told this client is based on older code, not the most recent version of the official eMule client. Not to mention the updates are few and far in-between. I've tried most of the eMule mods out there and this one is definitely not my first choice. I know plenty of people who use this (although some of them switched now) not because it's the best client now, but because they started using it years ago when there weren't many mods that were better and they can't be bothered to try anything else.

Anyway, I use eMule Xtreme because it's based on the latest source, gets updated often, and it adds useful features on top of the official code instead of removing them. If you prefer eMule Plus, that's great. Just realize its shortcomings.

I have never had a corrupt file with eMule Plus, every release has been an improvement over the last. I have never experienced a crash or any other problems with this software.

It’s amusing that someone would ramble on about eMule being full of bugs in a post that is riddled with "bugs". The last time I checked, there is a standard in the English language for spelling and punctuation and no reason other than laziness or ineptitude to disregard it.

EMP is free and wonderful; I have nothing but gratitude to the developer.

has some loverly features, but perhaps too many to quick, the original emule client may be slow in updating, but then that's the cost of maintaing a stable client,

i think i'll stick with the original client for another 3 months,

p.s. i think they need to slow down adding features, and put more time into finding those bugs,

i even had 2 corrupt files, which i never have with the original client,

simple always works best,

great potential, but saturated with to many bugs, and they insist on adding to many features which is why i have given this a low score,

if they work on the bugs and lay of adding feature after feature which introduces more bugs, then this could become esential to have, but until then i will choose stability over features anyday,

whats the point in having a tank go up against a rocket launcher if the tank keeps breaking down....

also please don't pick 1 section of my statement out from the rest, the whole body of my review was to clearly let people know that although this client has great potentiall, there are many many bugs being fixed, and so many more to be fixed, yet the developers keep insisting on adding to many features to quick, there only on version 1.2a, whats the rush, they should slow down with the features and take some more time maintaining stability rather than features,

please if people are going to correct me on something, make it on something from the whole body of my review and don't pick out small sections, and as for my english, well who cares, if you understand what i write then i'm happy, i write quick, and as simple as i can, i'm not writing a 3000 word english essay now am i?

All the ratio bulls*** with KAD is just that.. Ratios shouldn't be enforced in order to have an uncrippled download rate. My upload is pitiful but my download shouldn't be cut to 3x of it because of things beyond my control.

The most stable mod. I have tried MorphXT and ionix and they do not compare to eMule Plus. What I need from this mod? Kademlia and unicode support, but 5/5 for the stability of the app.

This is the only emule mod worth downloading . The rest are lazy and great for leechers .. This will allow you to download at good speeds and upload cause you will actually stay conneced since you actually get to download with this mod ..

It's okay, but I've recently been using the eDonkey2000 client and like it better than EMule w/ or w/o the EMule plus "features." I think it's more of just personal preference, but I could swear my dowloads are more consistent, too.

TuxmanXP is wrong. The community feature doesn't prefer eMule Plus users, nor has any predefined tag. If you want to learn (and understand) more about this feature you can read the FAQ or the posts about it at eMule Plus forum.

Don't forget Friend Slots is even worse in some "promoted mods" as Morph by allowing to allocate more than 75% of the upload bandwidth to them. I would like to know why this is better?

I don't know what all this 'praise be to eMule Phoenix' malarky is. I don't think it's better than eMule Plus at all. I haven't got time to try all the eMule mods but if you want something better than the bog standard Official eMule, then eMule Plus is better. I'd also consider it to be better than eMule Phoenix, but I'm not here to review that. Try eMule Plus if you don't think the Official eMule is up to much, or you just want to try something a bit better.

I'll have to reiterate what others have said. This program is very good overall, but for some reason it is substantially slower in starting and completing downloads. Since downloading is the crux of the eDonkey network, I dock it 2 rating points. (Phoenix 1.9.1 is the fastest, IME)

I have allways loved the Plus Mod but... it isn't as fast as others... that is the reason I am currently using Phoenix 1.9.1 which Rocks and is the best mod out there, in my opinion..

I love this software, but hasn't it been replaced by eDonkey2000? I mean, no more updating server lists, nice interface ... and of course much easier to use than BitTorrent (although not as fast).

First: Version 1m released on 25th June!

Tried this mod as one of the first mods Ive ever tried and I liked all the extra features. But the most important thing was missing. Speed. Now I gave it up to use the Plus Mod and changed to sivka's mod. I'm still usin it because it isnt overloaded of extra features nobody needs and it has speed!
So Rating 4/5 because of the missing "Plus" speed ;)

What can i say.. i tried this again a few weeks ago, now i am using the current version, adn i am hooked. With over 14000 known clients, i have been download all sorts of stuff :) A great Mod this is. Much better then EMULE is, as far as user friendly. There is one or 2 things that i wish where changed in the GUI, but there pet peaves and do not deter me from re-evaluating EMULE PLUS! a "5"

Yep, this is my fav emule mod too! btw, lisitsa, it's true that emule is quite slow (artifically so, IMO) and i used to hate that fact. But now after understanding p2p tech more and realizing human nature (mine and everyone's..which is: gimme quickly and then poof sayonara!), I started to really like the idea of getting files slower, with the ultimate prize of actually helping the file exist FOREVER in the system (scattered around). In other words, if the download was fast, most people would just stop sharing as soon as they got the file, so future seekers (that's you and me) would have never had a chance to grab the file. If you want quick files that are fairly new releases (a few days old) then what you want is bittorrent.

The thing I have never been able to work out with Emule, is that there are always a multitude of files more than in Kazaa, and some programs that I have been looking for, but as soon as you click download, you are queued or the download is really really really (100B/s) slow, or not even moving. If this range of files was available and easily able to be downloaded, than this program would be heavensent.

Best of the best here. There are really no alternatives nowadays, KaZaA just sucks and if you're using Bearshare or anything else, really you're just wasting your time. Let's hope eMule sticks out for the long run. I do wish eMule Plus had more frequent updates, along the lines of regular eMule. But it works, so I can't complain. This and mIRC are the only programs you need for file sharing.

randal2k: ed2k (eDonkey/eMule) isnt even in the same user bracket as Kazaa is other then there both p2p networks. ed2k is a large file system mostly (movies and programs).

If yer looking for small files (mp3s) then go some place else. Small files only bog down ed2k :(

I give it 4 stars becose it's still a damn good mod but I prefer plain simple eMule better.

I'm more comfortable with this eMule mod than any of the others. It's especially nice that eMule Plus remembers the "Global Search" setting, instead of switching it back to the less useful normal "Server" search mode. That alone saves time and makes a big difference for me personally. Plus also looks better, especially the more comprehensive Transfers window. Mods have minor improvements, but they can save time and make things neater.
