Reviewing 2.4 (Mar 15, 2007)
The best simple web server program hands down
Apache is the best for high-end production/power-users.
Reviewing 2.4.0.2b2 (Dec 7, 2006)
The webserver states it supports Classic ASP, though it does, it's not free.
"Classic" ASP support is available only on Windows using a third party commercial product called ActiveHTML from seliSoft.
According to seliSoft they're product is no longer freeware.
I'm sorry I didn't write a full review on the product, I'm sure it's fine. But I was looking for classic ASP support because the new Windows Vista is very expensive and I was hoping for a thirdparty webserver for testing ASP scritps and I'm sure others are thinking about it too..
Reviewing 2.4.0.2b2 (Dec 7, 2006)
Makes setting up a webserver as painless as possible. I doubt I'll use it for production work, but for throwing a webserver together quick I will definately turn to this first.
Reviewing 2.4.0.2b2 (Dec 7, 2006)
It simply just works - Great, much, much better than I ever would have thought!
Reviewing 2.3.2 (Jun 15, 2006)
Excellent! Just what I was looking for.
Was a breeze to set-up with a good walk through guide too! :)
Reviewing 2.3 Beta 2 (Feb 22, 2006)
Very nicly written and good for many web solutions. The flexability is awesome. One drawback example - this server doesn't have built-in SSL support, even in their 'Full' version. You can kind of shoestring it together w/ stunnel and such, but still not mature in several ways as apache or IIS is.
Reviewing 2.3 Beta 2 (Feb 22, 2006)
This program does PHP and ASP? Thats impressive actually, (even though I pesonally never use ASP, some of our customers do).
Looks like it might be a competitor for Apache.
Reviewing 2.0.6 (Nov 17, 2005)
The very first webserver I ever used. It's very easy for newbies and with the forum you'll find everything you need to know about using your own server. If you've never used a web server BE SURE TO START HERE!!!!

Reviewing 2.0.0.20 (Mar 23, 2005)
I love it! Currently I am having difficulties in using Apache 2 and the Apache 1 versions because they makes my computer really slow! But this is fast! I can debug my scripts offline and more often!
Reviewing 2.0.0.20 (Mar 16, 2005)
Version 2.0 is freeware, it comes in 2 flavors:
Freeware (aka X1) and Professional (aka X2)
Aprelium themselves have said that they will continue to develop and release freeware versions of Abyss.
Wonderful server program!
Reviewing 2.0.0.20 (Mar 16, 2005)
The new versiopn X2 is no longer Freeware :( WHy Why WHY? OHHh WHY? :D
Reviewing 1.2.2.2 (Feb 29, 2004)
I used AWS for quite awhile, then finally lost trust in it after a couple vulnerabilities were found. This shouldn't be surprising, though, since AWS doesn't enjoy anywhere near the type of widespread use of Apache. So, while it may be really easy to set up and use, it isn't as powerful or as secure as Apache. Just take note of what the Aprelium.com site runs on (hint: it starts with "A" and ends with "pache").
Reviewing 1.2.1 (Dec 10, 2003)
Yes, really good FREEWARE. So I can use it for connect my pc with a few schoolmates. Because pupils take care with the pockedmoney - Abyss Web server is exactly that, what we need.
Reviewing 1.2 Beta 1 (Oct 30, 2003)
Great free web server. Good enough to be pay. I thought because of it's very small file size it would be very limited but it is a complete package. If you're looking for a web serv app this is a must look!
