ICE ECC is a file verification and repair tool. It allows you to protect your important files and sensitive data against digital corruption using Reed-Solomon codes.

Latest Changes:

• Added possibility to find blocks from any files inside data directory. This is allow to recover files from ISO or similar files directly. Also is possible to use it for recovering files with lost filenames
• Changed for low priority mode priority from IDLE to LOWEST
• Added command exporting list of files from ECC file to text file - ICE ECC l
• Changed syntax of command line optins. Directory with data files suggest now as default directory
• Added new option - /d now select data directory
• Some small fixes

As you can see from my previous comment below, I've been using this program for a couple of years. Brilliant program. And now faster then ever. (not that speed was a real problem before)

3.6Gb / 399 folders / 8828 files 10% redundency Took about 8 minutes to create the ECC files (I was doing other stuff on the PC) I then deleted (actually moved to another folder) 10 entire folders (approx 500 files) ICE ECC recreated the missing files / folders perfectly.

Excellent Reed-Solomon implementation. Only one big problem - this thing chews up a MASSIVE amount of memory, over 300Mb with the amount of files I've just fed it. YMMV.

Pretty good tool. I only wish it was open-source - this is the kind of thing you want to know you'll be able to use 10 or 15 years down the road to restore old data.

If you use ZIP format to backup anything important to you, then you better use ICE ECC to guarantee their integrity, given ZIP's unreliability. A great app and format that is more robust than PAR. Best of all, it's superfast.
