Works fine with my laptop synaptics drivers. Make sure you have the latest synaptics driver as well.

Offers
*4 Acceleration levels as well as motion speed
*Screen scrolling size wheel adjustments
*Middle button function assigning
*Medium Black, Lefty and Extra large cursors
*Possibly other support depending on mouse model

For a 4mb download that makes using your Logitech mouse feel better and smoother it's worth it. Much nicer than using the default usb microsoft driver.

This version 9.79.x detects the laptop touchpad and only enables usb mice support as it installs.

Free...but totally bloatware. WinME/2k/XP utilizes the buttons of a mouse, doesn't install unnecessary software, and doesn't add a whole bunch of worthless files.

These continue to be among the most trouble-free hardware drivers I've dealt with. I've seen no significant issues with this version or any other for over two years now.

Still does not work with Opera...

If it works with Opera (middle = Autoscroll + MS compatible scrolling activated), other Software does not.

Good hardware (design) but bad drivers

Do the mouseware drivers work with KVM's on win98se yet?
Every ver I've tried loses mousewheel support if you switch between computers.

It installs fine under win2003. All you need to do is install with WinXP compatibility. (Right click the file, and chosse properties, then compatibility)

This is a very very good mouse driver. However, the setup refuses to launch on Windows 2003. Actually the drivers do work on the newest MS OS, if you install them manually. But you don't have access to the logitech advanced control panel (or what it's called), as it is installed by the main setup program. Please Logitech guys fix this !

Woohoo, they finally made it. With the keystroke feature the thumb button on my dual optical works now perfectly in games. Now im able to click and hold the button. With prefious versions of MW that hasn't work. Nice work logitech, but you took really long to fix this. Anyway 5 full stars

1. New Keystroke button assignment - the feature will allow the customer to program their mouse buttons to keyboard keys.

Please use Keystroke to address users that have issues with the "Close Application" button assignment not closing the active windows. Set the button you wish to close your applications with to keystroke, then
program this feature to Alt-F4.

What in the WORLD were they thinking? That 'Disable in Games' function is awful. While using Winamp3 (OK, so I'm not one to talk), the entire mouse just gets fubar'd... then on top of that, you have to make sure the focus is off the offending app before the mouse will function properly again. I'm back on 973 now. DON'T GET THIS SET!

not tried fully, one main point the ebay icon is clearly showen when you install the program if you look, prob best to get adult to help you in future :) just take the tick out the box and it wont put the shortcut on desktop when it installs. Explorer is scrolling fine, no blue screens.
As normal read and reviews with care due to so many losers who post crap just to be funny.

A step backward: this version gives you a dead webwheel on lots of older applications. Only traditionalists will like rerurning to the old click-click-click on the scroll bar. Also missing: the "Use MS Office Compatible Scroll Only" checkbox in the Buttons tab. Given the damaged scroll function, maybe MS Office Compatible Scroll is all there is now.

exit reviewed v9.75 Build 302 on Nov 30, 2002

In all of the privies versions I was able to spin the web wheel by spinning the center wheel button on the mouse this version will not do that ?

Works fine, so did the last version. If you find your mouse is too sensitive (comment below) check setting and reduce the sensitivity - it's easy to do that.

Driver installed fine, but threw a bluescreen when I clicked "Okay" in the Mouse control panel. Now, after the reboot, my mouse is *way* more sensitive than before, even though the cursor speed setting is in the same place it's always been.

For some reason, Logitech's mouse driver has always had a problem with wheel scrolling in Windows 2000, though there have been workarounds. It finally works right straight out of the box. Three cheers!

I dont know if it was me who was doing something wrong with the previous version but now the mouse scroll feature to change weapons in Unreal Tournament works!!! (the mouseware seemed to interfere before when installed...)
A good reason to upgrade that VERY handy tool :)

The latest Mouseware (free) from Logitech (v9.60) does not detect my Trackman Marble Plus PS2 device. After installation and reboot, the new Mouseware detected my trackball as a Generic PS2 Logitech mouse. In order to use my trackball (as such), I had to uninstall this latest
Mouseware version and then reinstall the previous Logitech Mouseware version 9.42.1. I tried uninstalling the older mouseware version, rebooting, installing the new Mouseware version, and then rebooting, but again the new Mouseware did not detect my trackball as other than a Generic PS2 Logitech mouse. Never had this problem before with any
previous Logitech Mouseware version.

It works fine. That's it?
It permits (and suggests) you to replace the defrag soft that came with your windows version. But it doesn't say why you should do that! There is no obvious reason why this free version would be any better than the MS defrag: it presents only one defragmentation method + it has to be started as an application. None of the options that make the Pro version attractive are present. The result doens't warrant the installation of this free version.

There's a problem with these drivers. In XP RC1 and Win98se, scrolling in IE5.5 or IE6 doesn't work correctly. Sometimes rotating the scroll wheel won't move the page or it moves the page in the opposite direction. I sent a message to Logitech. In XP I went back to the old drivers that came with XP.

Thanks, Logitech! I really appreciate the eBay icon that your software puts on my desktop without asking!
Maybe you should start putting the eBay logo on all your devices, so that you can make some extra money.
Never mind that your valued customer already paid once for the device - let him/her view some commercials too! eBiz forever! Long live the new economy!

To: the_dude: I reported the problem with the icon in the system tray to Logitech yesterday. I am now using the 9.26.111 control center and the 9.28.44 drivers. You can disable the icon but it's back after a reboot because the control center sets the icon visible flag back to 'showicon'. I found the error in the software but I can't fix it, obviously. They should have a new release in a day or two.

Mouse software should always ADD to the standard drivers. Logitech does not do that. After installing the mouseware my scroll wheel is disabled and I would like the option to 'hide mouse pointer while typing', MS has this option in its mouse software and logitech should have included this option 9 releases ago. Don't install this, just use PS2Rate.

Logitech writes great mousing software to go along with their excellent pointing devices. This version of MouseWare is no exception. Sure, there's no Boomslang Razer here, but the everyday user would be hard pressed to find more ergonomic and reliable mice and trackballs.

I had a V2 myself, and in its time it was a great card. But as time goes on. Drivers are rarely updated, especially in instances such as this. Thats why I have my V2 stashed in my closet now days. I now use only my TNT, the driver support that Nvidia has for there cards could not be better, even though its an old car, there are constant updates. Nvidia, pleez continue to kick ass. As for 3DFX, I have nothing to say, as it would not be good.

I am currently using hacked NT4 drivers on Windows 2000. They support both Glide and OpenGL without the required second monitor. That fact that I can do this proves that it can be done. 3dfx is just making lame excuses not to support Windows 2000 and the Voodoo 2 properly.

Their claims 'that it cannot be done' are entirely false and utter rubbish. Everyone using hacked NT4 drivers can do it. So why can't the IHV itself do it, surely 3dfx knows the Voodoo 2 better than anyone, it should be trivial for them to release some sort of real Windows 2000 support. If a hacker with a bit of time can do it, there is no reason why 3dfx with their army of programmers can't. Its shameful to see a company so flagrantly disregard their commitment to support their products.

Important Information: If you have installed MouseWare 8.x into Windows 2000, you MUST uninstall this version before installing MouseWare 9.00. If you install MouseWare 9.00 over a previous version of MouseWare, you may lose keyboard and mouse functionality.

I've been using Win2K since it was a "wee little beta" about 2 years ago. This is the first version of Mouseware that actually works correctly. I recommend everyone follow Logitech's instructions to the letter. Here's some info that's real easy to miss, but will mess up your system if not paid attention to: (from their web-page)

Important Information: If you have installed MouseWare 8.x into Windows 2000, you MUST uninstall this version before installing MouseWare 9.00. If you install MouseWare 9.00 over a previous version of MouseWare, you may lose keyboard and mouse functionality.

Poor implementation. No pass-through, no SLI, no glide, D3D only, second monitor required.
Considering the hacked NT4 driver has all these features, apart from D3D, how can 3DFX say that these features can't be implemented under W2K?
Seems to me 3DFX is too committed to the "next best thing". They have abandoned a large part of their existing client base. I expect to see soon the announcment that there will be no new Win98 drivers for Voodoo2 as 3DFX shifts all it's resources to new product.
Very disappointing.

It didn't work for my mouse(Logitech FirstMouse). The web scroll function does nothing, mouse control panel doesn't work, and when I tried to uninstall it, it broke my uninstaller. So now I've got a mouse icon in my system tray and I can't scroll properly. Thumbs down on this one. It's a shame, too.
