MBAM is 1 of the best programs to use after you are already infected. The bad news is, many infections go straight for MBAM and block it. Sometimes renaming the EXE file something else can make it work. Always install MBAM in a custom folder, which can sometimes prevent malware from finding and blocking it. 1 point off for using a Windows service, even though you choose not to run it as a real time scanner. It really should have a portable option so you can run it from a USB flash drive. Also, why does MBAM not allow VirusTotal to use it in their group of scanners? Despite these problems, MBAM is still 1 of the best.

All you need is a program like DeepFreeze to restore your computer to a saved state on startup, these antiviruses and anti-spywares will only slow your computer down.

    And why isn't this portable?!

I had problems with the auto-update cycling over & over, this was quickly sorted by a full uninstall, & removing all registry entries and all folders & a reinstall.

This is by far the best anti-malware program there is. With the full program & a decent AV such as Eset ot Webroot SmartSecurity your pretty well covered. The full version can be got for in the UK £12 - Worth each & every penny.

@HeilNizar - 'All These AV's etc '- Garbage, my total start-up memory use is a shade over 700 meg. Mbam in real-time uses 5,140 k & Webroot SmartSecurity 4,472 k - Hardly a huge amount? 10 Meg or so for all my security.

Use AutoRuns & you can sort out what you want to start.

While recently trying to download the latest printer driver for my mother's printer which i wanted to print a few items with from my laptop, i inadvertantly downloaded the hardware helper program, and after a scan, not only did it ask for $29.95 to fix several driver's that it said needed updates, but it has changed my access level internally. I am still listed as Administrator, but am unavailable to un-install this as i am prompted that I do not have administrator access. Also, There are several minor things that Kasdpersky found, that i also am not being allowed to correct for the same reason that I dio not have administrator access ... PLEASE HELP ! I run SpyBot Search and Destroy, which only finds cookies, and Malwareware Bytes ... PLEASE HELP I NEED THIS REMOVED, and Administrator access restored.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED !
