This is a special Windows XP Theme from Microsoft designed to look like its new Zune portable media player. This is an official skin for Windows XP that has a dark grey style and orange Start menu.

The fact is you only have a skin.
Why don't check out crystalxp.net and download a complete brickopak.
And change even the color of your folders the way you want.
Or get a complete Windows 7 look. And dockbar as well.
You name it!
For the fact day tried a 3 star.

Hi,
This is nice and cool to know about this new Microsoft Zune Theme for Windows XP.I like to know it and excited to used it...

This will excellent and refreshing for you Desktop! It will bring WOW comments from friends and family because it look very professional. Although you will have to readjust your desktop sounds, and mouse pointers if you use you own; but Zune Theme is worth the changes! Try it!

Finally, someone at Microsoft is earning their keep and making cool stuff rather than churning out the same old junk.
This theme is so much nicer than the standard Windows themes that came with XP. Installed without a hitch. Matches my Aquatint Firefox theme perfectly..

This could look better if they used the win vista orb-get it at http://lee-soft.com/viorb/index.html

Update:
This theme is growing on me.
A lot of applications are starting to change their colours with more blacks (Lightroom, ACDSee etc) and that blends nicely with this.
Another plus is the icons tend to stand out nicely against the black. The Task Bar looks great.
Orange. If I could change this to green I would. Not a huge deal though.
There are "conversion" packs and themes requiring programs to install but there are risks with those. There's no risk with this theme. It's as safe as any default theme.
The "Royale" theme is easily Googled if you have XP or XP Pro and is superior to the XP Theme. It's the same theme as MCE 2005 which is much nicer on the eyes than the ugly bright blue XP theme.
Office 2007:
Leave on the default blue. Silver and Black suck.

Quite a nice theme once you get rid of the desktop. Have discovered it has upset some of the icons in my menu-bar i.e. they disappeared and it has been quite a job to get them back and keep them back!!!!! My original rating was 4 but that has now decreased to 2.

There is a error with the common tasks pane. It is not changed according to the theme

A very nice theme from microsoft! I hope more officially themes will be released.

It's sooooooooo pretty!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D
Actually, this is the first time I've ever felt comfortable enabling the Themes service. The first thing I usually do is disable it and switch to classic view.
This, however, is simply gorgeous... the orange is MUCH better than the in-your-face green one, but I wonder... by installing this I may not have the glass transparency of Vista, but I do get the shiny black... what is there left to Vista? *grin*
Hmm, I guess you either like green or you like orange, lol... the theme is like Vista gone Halloween, so if you don't like Black and Orange, then you should probably avoid it.
Reviewing 1.0 (Nov 3, 2006)
It's not a very exciting theme :-(
If you like Windows in black and grey then it's a great theme, but to me it looks unattractive and I couldn't live with it for many minutes.
Reviewing 1.0 (Nov 3, 2006)
the theme seems a bit large to me like the window borders and all take up lots of space, it's definitely better than luna but i've been using vistaxp by kol for some time now and it's grown on me
Reviewing 1.0 (Nov 3, 2006)
nice skin.. good free alternative to the very limited default set. buuut.. can you say "halloween"? black+orange color scheme
Reviewing 1.0 (Nov 3, 2006)
I like it a lot, i have tried a lot of mods for a darker toolbar, now i have one, the orange start bar is a little annoying, but you over come that pretty quick
Reviewing 1.0 (Nov 3, 2006)
Better than the original Royale.
Microsoft borked the installer though. The shellstyle is not installed correctly.
Reviewing 1.0 (Nov 3, 2006)
A very nice theme, and nice to see one that needs no paid products installed. Maybe that's more common now since I gave up on themes long ago and just settled for the silver one that comes standard.
One gripe is the orange start button. I'd rather blue or green, but that's my problem.
More important, however, is the fact that it reset all of my sounds and mouse pointers to default and set up it's hideous wallpaper as well. That seems a tad silly to me, as most XP systems are old enough for the user to have those things set the way the user wants them, even if they're looking for new visual effects. I think if you didn't add anything to a certain scheme, why force a change?
Sure it's only a few minutes of tooling around and setting them back to where you like them, but hey, it's annoying.
So I'd recommend you try this out to see if you like it, but save your sound and mouse pointer schemes first.
Also changes screen saver back to default. PITA.
Tempted to drop a point for all the useless resetting of things that weren't actually changed or modified.

Decent Royale-style theme:

This theme (Royale Noir) is making some noise in response too:

Great New Look for XP ! I love it! Installed with no hitch and all is working well here. Kudos to Microsoft!
Reviewing 1.0 (Nov 2, 2006)
Looks pretty nice. It's a re-coloured Royale theme but it fits in with the dark Vista look. I wish MS would release more themes like this - or better yet give the user the ability to change the colours.
I did notice some weird glitches with the taskbar when playing around with sizes for the close/minimize buttons. It would make my quick launch icons look distorted and make the taskbar itself taller. Weird.
Reviewing 1.0 (Nov 2, 2006)
Looks nice without having to patch anything.
Its a nice change and theme
Reviewing 1.0 (Nov 2, 2006)
Corbit..it didnt do anything to my FF 2.0. You have some other problem that caused that.
I like it..the orange start button gets a lil getting used to but over all its a really nice theme.
Reviewing 1.0 (Nov 2, 2006)
It broke the .dll entry point for (get ready) Firefox 2.0. I actually had to reinstall the program. Yes, I'm sure. You're all class, Bill. Looks good, though, and integrated with everything else, so far.
Reviewing 1.0 (Nov 2, 2006)
It's just Luna in a black/orange color scheme... third parties have already painted Luna every color under the sun...
I recommend a uxtheme patch and then browsing some of the delightful third-party made themes that DON'T look like Luna.
Reviewing 1.0 (Nov 2, 2006)
Love it. The desktop image is pretty stupid, but obviously that's easy to change.
Reviewing 1.0 (Nov 2, 2006)
I like it, i just love the black and orange coloring they use but the backgroundpicture was nothing for me.
