Should deserve a 5 for fixing a long-standing bug that Microsoft never bothered to fix themselves. However, the fact that the settings are wiped out is a no-go for me.

    Hi all,

For those of you wondering if PastIconsFlusher will support Vista, the answer is:

    Well, maybe.

I think it will, but I don't own a copy of Vista to test it on. However, I've gotten some tips and written some code that I think will be Vista compatible.

If you'd like to test PastIconsFlusher on Vista, download and compile this code:

    http://bellsouthpwp.net/...ticonsflushersource.zip

That is the 0.1.8 code - a compiled binary has not been released. I hope to release it soon.

Thank you for using PastIconsFlusher! I hope it has helped you out.

    Regards,
    Paul

Any program that does something that I couldn't (and don't already) do with a simple REG file gets an automatic 5 from me, especially if it's free :)

Works fine, and is a nice and well performed C++ exercise. And it is not as obvious as it may seem :)

Any program that does nothing that I couldn't (and don't already) do with a simple REG file gets an automatic 1 from me--even if it's free.

^Very cute reply, Zoroaster... But I do accomplish the same thing with a REG file that this program does. I run it at log off via the Group Policy function. So yeah, not as obvious as it seems, but just because you didn't know how to do it without an exectuable doesn't mean I don't.

    I'd give a one-trick-pony a 5, but this is still a no-trick-pony in my eyes.
