  1. Review - K-Lite Mega Codec Pack

    1.70 (Mar 29, 2007)

This is my favourite codec pack, however I am only giving it a 4 because I miss a feature to make updates smaller and easier, instead of having to remove and reinstall the full set of codecs every week or so. A smart autoupdate feature would make this, if it isn't already, the best codec package available. Thank you and keep up the good work!

  2. Review - XP-AntiSpy

    3.96-1 (Jun 15, 2006)

A must-have!!! Great work and quick updates. If you like your XP, just gran this small jewel and use it to tweak it to your liking.

  3. Review - UPX (Ultimate Packer for eXecutables) for Windows

    2.00 (Apr 27, 2006)

My all-time favourite: fast, effective and free! Other coders should learn from UPX instead of releasing bloated commercial packers/encryptor which are way behind of this small treasure.
Don't miss it, you won't regret it!

  4. Review - cFosSpeed

    2.13 Build 1099 Beta (Apr 27, 2006)

This program is great. I'm happy to have bought it for just 9€. I can download, stream or use p2p while browsing, chatting or using ssh without lag.

They have both a stable release and betas for the users who want to use them. Please inform yourself before giving a bad ratio just because of your ignorance. Maybe some people will find it unuseful but after a few days and playing with the configuration and rules it can play magic on your connection.

Just give it a try and inform yourself and then leave your fair comment. We will be awaiting... ;)

  5. Review - Microsoft Windows Defender (32-bit)

    1.1.1051 Beta 2 (Feb 14, 2006)

I just installed this new "Windows Defender" because I loved the previous versions (had it from the Giant AS version) and IMHO the UI is much worse, options are more difficult to find and less configurable, there is not an icon, so the overall impression is much worse than the previous one. I hope they will get to fix it, while so I will stick to the old one, which still preserves some of the good-old Giant Antispyware appearance and functionality. It's a pity what a lot of money can do with a great program, although I hope they learn from their mistakes and improve it a lot if they don't want to lose the base of users. I wonder what people who payed for the old Giant AS will think about this...

  6. Comment - Caption Contest: Win Vista and Office!

    1.1.1051 Beta 2 (Jan 30, 2007 - 6:31 PM)

Gates: As requested, no more BSODs in Vista... we made them green! w00t!

Ballmer: Go install Vista: Aero, Ultrasecurity, DRM... and you'll be walking on the tightrope as I do!

  7. Comment - Spanish Trojan Targets Online Bankers

    1.1.1051 Beta 2 (Dec 28, 2005 - 3:42 AM)

There is no popup in this case. The line is inserted into messages from your contacts. That way you trust them and click it. The message before the link can also be changed from the configuration file, because the original uses latin words from South America and I have seen some changes to use Spanish words. May you be infected, just reboot in safe mode and delete the windows\system32\service folder which contains all the files used by the trojan.
