This makes IE (a necessary evil) bearable. Having the ability to run user scripts (like Grease Monkey) makes it more seamless to switch between browsers. I just wish there was a better way to share favorites between the two (Plain Old Favorites is helpful but not perfect).
anomoly reviewed v2.4.5 on Feb 4, 2009
I like this prog but I don't care for much the browser it's attached to. As far as ad blocking I just use hostsman and therefore do not need any 'extension' bs

It's about time that someone made a decent ad blocker for IE, but Privoxy is already available and just as easy to set up. It's better just to use Firefox with Adblock Plus. Firefox has always been a better web browser than Internet Explorer. It uses much less system resources too.
Josh97 reviewed v2.4.4 on Dec 9, 2008
Apparently the "2.4.4" link leads to a beta (shows up as 2.4 Beta 1 after install) and AdBlocking is removed... until a next release I'm sticking with IePro2.4

1) Get off your a** and release the 64-bit version.
2) Get off your a** and fix your bloody servers so that they're actually responding to requests. Nine times out of ten, when I go to your server, it does not respond.
FOUR stars for an excellent add-in for IE7 that easily makes it Firefox's superior, no matter how many plugins you add to that mess.
Loss of ONE star for the above complaints.
Vimes reviewed v2.4 on Sep 24, 2008
Great and useful add-on for IE. It would have been nice if more could have been added since it has been so long since the last update. However the continued work and development of this is most appreciated.

I have been using this for several months and find it's a great add-on for IE. I also use Opera, Mozilla Firefox... I have been using IE as my primary browser since '95 and I have used others but IE is by far my fav. IE7pro add-on is a great way to get many new features out of IE.
roj reviewed v2.3 on Jun 23, 2008
Utterly essential. Allows IE7 to beat the CRAP out of Firefox 3 in every conceivable way, ranging from user experience to speed.
FIVE stars for excellence.
EDIT:
Drop this to FOUR stars for two reasons. The first is an annoying bug that when "open new tab from address bar" is enabled, single word searches from the address bar result in a "page not found" error and are not passed to the underlying search engine. The second is that the damned site and forum are forever down so you can't report the bug.
Kindly fix both issues.

Makes IE more powerful and almost interesting. I open IE only when I question FF which is rare and I am always wrong.

I recommend IE7Pro to one and all...esp. those who like me, endured earlier bugs-- this product keeps growing & improving by leaps and bounds.
Warning from the Devs, esp. because this release name tends to give a false sense of security!
IE7Pro 2.3 RC1 is for internal testing in the forums only. Please do not submit it to any of the download sites or spread it in the public. Since we are implementing many new features, multiple bugs are expected. There will be public betas later, but this one is only for the forum members.
Due to the vast numbers of features being implemented, please put the beta through a exhaustive test and report the bugs over here.

4 out of 5: if this addon could add the option for no disk cache in IE than i would give IE a spin... not having that is pretty crappy cause i got all the RAM IE need and more so there would not be any reason to have a disk cache if i dont want to...for me this is one step closer to a secure browsing.
**************************************************
Not on Vista w/ IE i wouldn't recommend it-- IE brings the system down with it @ heavy surfing(lots of open tabs)... it's still too closely integrated to the OS imo-- brings down all my systems whether @ 1 - 4 gb RAM.
However, maybe on other browsers... even ie-engine ones YES... practically none of the other ones i try suffer the ill effects.
The only reason i use this, and IESessions: http://www2.baobau.com/iesessions_more.html
is because of having to use IE exclusively at times during work.

Microsoft needs to stop being so protective over a dumb letter E. The last I checked, the letter "E" existed well before the creation of Microsoft. Big changes in the past couple builds have been the changing IE7pro icon. They need to settle on something...I like the current icon, though it looks like a pie with 25% of it cut out.

I'd like to know the software titles that nilst2006 DOESNT give a 1/5. Everyone of his ratings that I see are 1/5 with cheap comments like "it doesnt work", "it always crashes", "its crap", "its spyware", etc.
IE7pro is the best plugin for Internet Explorer 7 where the list of true plugins for Internet Explorer 7 is short. It adds tons of features that you would find in IE frontends like Maxthon/GreenBrowser/Avant (super drag+drop, mouse gestures, etc.), and features that you would find in Firefox (download manager, adblock, etc.). I'm not sure what wrong there is with this program. And no, it does NOT crash at all. I have never had a crash with IE7pro.

I am giving this software 4 stars and not 5 for a few reasons. "Open new Tab from Favorites" does not work and it has never worked on my XP SP2. I have been installing every new version just to see if this has been fixed and it hasn't but I am not sure if anyone has reported this. Second, the installer and IE7Pro itself try to access the net. Why??? It is picked up by my firewall and I simply blocked it.

IE7Pro does not come with any filtersets so of course it won't block all ads...
Just import a filterset of your liking.
The one at http://www.pierceive.com/filtersetg/ for example, which is one of the sets AdBlock can use.
Anyway. IE7Pro turns IE7 into a usable browser. No one should use IE7 without it. It still won't make IE7 my default browser, but it sure makes IE7 a lot safer and better.

Program is simply great. It's EXACTLY what I needed since Maxthon has gone to hell.
I agree there's some features that i think most people will have no interest in, such as the scripting....but you can easily disable those features!
The in-line search feature is great, much better than the default IE "find" process.
I don't use the ad-blocking because I like my other ad-blocker better.
I wish the "multiple-search-engines" feature worked from the IE search box instead of the URL box.
Bugeyes reviewed v1.0.1 Beta 1 on Jul 19, 2007

IE 7 Pro has a problem which is that it doesn't actually block all advertisements, i hoped it would work like Adblock Plus + Adblock Filterset.G Updater (the FireFox extensions)... i searched for filters for it but i didn't find, i than the team who developed it, i hope they will continue to develop it and make it a real PRO.
Jordanr05 reviewed v1.0.1 Beta 1 on Jul 18, 2007
I've been using this software for a while now. The ad-blocking feature, the main reason I use this program, is great. But I have to say, the program is getting bigger and bigger with every release. I don't need all this script and plug-in capability. In fact, I wonder if they'll do a light version featuring only a few options.
Nevertheless I'm knocking the score down to a 4 for the feature creep.
midfingr reviewed v1.0.1 Beta 1 on Jul 18, 2007

AdBlock settings now defaulted to "Off" brings this gem down to a 3 from its previous 5.

(5) - The ONLY freeware addon for IE with adblock ability (RegEx) (Sexy)
(5) - Tab Recovery! (Sexy)
(4) - HighLight (Ctrl + F) (As Firefox)
(3) - Tab settings
(2) - Plugins, Mouse Gestures and other freaky stuff
(1) - Scripts, Spellcheck (dosn't work)
Overall, when spellcheck will work, 5. Now just 4.

You people can install all the security apps and frontends you want, you can't claim that IE is better; it isn't, and never will be.

It is true that some sites won't work with 'you name it adblocker' like removing mails in youre inbox in webbased emailaccounts, site where you can upload files and so on, but after a while you are getting used to it.

Very useful. Small bug though, in the 0.9.7 preference page, the program is still listed as being V0.9.6. Not any problem though, all the features/updates listed in the change-log are there as described and that IE7 add-on works wonderfully without creating extra mess in your browser such as most toolbars create. (it adds a single little icon in the bottom corner next to the zoom-level tool)

photonboy reviewed v0.9.5 on Jan 8, 2007
Okay, I decided to review this in more depth after reading other comments and it seems that my review was indeed unfair.
If you find at least one thing useful here then it is worth the download. I can see many people using this although I'm going to stick with using Firefox and leave IE7 "untainted" for when Firefox doesn't work.
The first thing I had tried was to see what "Top IE Menu" meant and I still can't figure that out. The second thing was "drag n drop." I was trying to drop it next to the tab which was off the screen. After watching the tutorial I realized my mistake and felt a little stupid. I don't think drag n drop is really needed but I can see people using it.
While there are Ad Blockers there aren't many good IE7 packages available and I think this has something to offer many people and I see no immediate security concerns.
(On the Firefox side, I highly recommend "Adblock Plus", "NoScript" and "TabMix Plus"; use the Session Restore in TabMix Plus so that it asks you when closing and automatically restores.)
