Publisher's Description
K-MeleonCCF is a Web browser which for the Microsoft Windows platform. It is an unofficial version of K-Meleon and based on the same Gecko layout engine as Mozilla Firefox. It uses native Windows API to create the user interface (instead of using Mozilla's cross-platform XUL layer), and as a result, is tightly integrated into the look and feel of the Windows desktop; this approach is similar to that of Galeon and Epiphany (for the GNOME desktop), and Camino (for Mac OS X). This also makes K-MeleonCCF less resource-intensive and more responsive to user input.
K-MeleonCCF ME was developed as a more streamlined version of K-MeleonCCF, using less resources and delivering greater responsiveness. This is achieved by the exclusion of Mozilla's inefficient XUL (XML User Interface Language) in menus, and the use of more Lua-based macros.

how can I write a review, when Kmellon head has th made the download a goofy zip7 file. what jerks for the average user. Yes, very cute.

Used it extensively up until just a month or so ago & switched to the ccf 0.095 v3 because of cpu issues & flash objects. This (096) does not like tabs on my pc, has a hang type of issue; big time. QTweb is good too but still very new. 095 v3 is gecko based as well. All it took was extracting, running and pointing it to my bookmarks.html file. ret***s will find this difficult^^

This is an UNOFFICIAL version of K-Meleon. It is lighter than the official version; runs a bit faster; but is slightly unstable.
The OFFICIAL version of K-Meleon is rock stable, faster than Firefox or IE, and ready to roll. Get it at...

Works excellent by simply overwriting my working folder. It is not the soft but u & your pc that is crap.

Same as last time. It crashes. Icon can't be put on desktop. Truly a useless piece of crap and a waste of time. Why do people create such nonsense? Rating: minus 1

Overwrote and opened my config perfectly. Plays flash, utube whatever.
Frantic that is a first.
Please-problems are on your end, not the browser's

Very interesting. I played around with it, but it's too frantic and not intuitive at all. It crashed a number of times, something to do with Adobe Flash player update. Nice looking, but who has the time to fiddle with it?

Still cant run. No error message, nothing. I think its a piece of crap.

All you have to do to get the Windows Title Bar to display is go to Preferences, under the General Tab there is a option to "Show Windows Title Bar (Needs restart), enable it and restart the browser.
anomoly reviewed v0.092pre on Feb 26, 2009
Works fine.
The title window bar was removed and fullscreen is like f11. Has minimize, maximize, and close buttons on toolbar now. Manual sizing works fine (minus taskbar).
maifest was not removed?

Much better out of the box than default K-Meleon for sure. Just wish it could import ablock+ rules straight from a Firefox profile.
The side-by-side errors can be eliminated by deleting the manifest file in the extracted directory. Not sure why the developer was silly enough to leave it in.
anomoly reviewed v0.091 on Feb 4, 2009
After deleting manifest works great EXCEPT does not remember ANY names of bookmark folders upon close. Gives only "null"
Fixed-Just install the 152 standard version and copy the boolmarks.dll from it to your CCF ME's file location overwriting it. Folders are now remembered.
SWEET!

I don't understand why the Developer would ruin the REP of such a bad-ass browser by releasing this version without testing it before release.

This is impressive - very fast page loading and excellent security features. You have to play around with it for a while to get everything the way you want it, but it's well worth the effort.

0.09 final version is simply the best! A very clean and smooth interface, fast and secure. K-MeleonCCF is a great gecko browser engine based. 5/5, 100/100. I tried and used many browsers (opera, firefox, maxthon, etc), but this one is the best!
Simplemente es el mejor navegador, el mas rapido y con una interfaz pulida. De todos los que he usado, K-MeleonCCF es el mejor.

Just switched back to this after running the official update for a minute. This IS very fast and very easy to configure books properly.
Thumbnails are lame.

One of the best browsers out! But according to SonicWall:

Impressive little browser. Firefox without the bloat. Lightning fast, low memory usage, and portable! You can
disable Java, Javascript, and Flash on-the-fly (Firefox requires a restart to enable/disable flash). The interface
is a little clunky but that can be customized. I would like for them to add the option to disable Active-x on the fly, such
as Maxthon has. Does not appear to support plug-ins either, maybe in future releases?
I would not recommend this to novices since there is no installation program but therein lies one of the best features of this browser. You download and extract the files to a directory of your choice, even a USB flash drive. Nothing is written to the registry, no temp files or other garbage. Everything is read/written to the K-Meleon directory. If after using this you find that it's not for
you simply delete the K-meleon directory and it's gone from your system.
I use Firefox, Opera, and Maxthon but K-Meleon CCF is my favorite PORTABLE browser.
P.S. Don't take it personally when someone writes a negative review about a program you happen to like. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I always ignore
any non-objective reviewers, especially those who post uninsightful comments like "pretty crappy and useless".

pretty crappy and useless.
anomoly reviewed v0.09 RC2 on Dec 25, 2008
I actually like this more than the current official release. Supports download mngrs and has a tight gui with better skins and is apparently portable by default, which is what I prefer. Very NICE!
FF is a bag of bloat
Just now noticed scrolling works 1000% better than in the official 1.51. SWEET!! and FAST

Pkshadow, do you not realize this is extracted as a portable application? There is no uninstaller, you just delete the folder.
Secondly, I think this is a good edition. It works well, and has some of the features I miss in K-meleon. Great job to the developer(s).

OptimusRhyme reviewed v0.09 RC1 on Dec 16, 2008
JKshadow, please do not EVER again rate software that you have not used, especially based on something you don't understand. People take a lot of time to put out software for us, and to have the product rated low based upon someone not being able to read and being too lazy to TRY it, is pretty bad.
You were wetting pseudo-intellectual pants to try and come off as someone whose opinion should be valued. Talk less. Read and try software more.
K-meleon on it's own is very slick, and this version works very well, just still a bit buggy. The final will be great.
coolwulf reviewed v0.09 RC1 on Dec 16, 2008
This program is just a zipped file. You unzip it and run it and to uninstall you just need to delete the whole folder.
Pkshadow reviewed v0.09 RC1 on Dec 16, 2008
I usually do not comment on uninstalled programs but when they mention tightly integrated to windows and do not provide a uninstaller; I must ask the developers "are you mad"?
Bad rating for not providing a basic element of beta or any program.
