For me, File Renamer is the perfect balance between ease of use and power/flexibility. There are more powerful utilities, but they require command lines or specialized language to harness their potential. File Renamer offers an easy graphical interface for abilities that exceed most users' needs. If you require complex or automated batch processing of files, then File Renamer is the wrong utility for you. Otherwise, I recommend it.

The K-Lite team has done an outstanding job with their codec packs over the years. A video conversion pack's a fine idea. Thanks, K-Lite.

I am a fan of AutoHotKey and agree that InCite cited fair reasons for a rating of 2 or 3. For him and his company, apparently, AutoHotKey isn't the best fit. That's okay.
IMHO, a rating of 1 should be reserved for annoyingly buggy programs and crude, amateurish efforts. There are *plenty* of such applications in the ether. AutoHotKey is not one of them.

To the reviewer who wants a thumbnail view: Think before you rate a program poorly. A thumbnail view would slow the program and explode the size of the database. Locate can scan and catalogue hundreds of thousands of files in seconds. If it had to add thumbnails to its database, the creation process would become so slow that you wouldn't use it anymore. Locate's signature feature is its speed.
