  1. Review - NirLauncher

    1.11.43 (Feb 2, 2012)

I'd love to give this program a proper review, but every time I try and download it, McAfee tells me it's got at least 10 viruses inside the zip file, and deletes it.

    I figure it's not a virus, but it's frustrating.

  2. Review - Desktop Earth

    2.1 (Jul 1, 2008)

Good program. Does what it says it does.
I've never had a problem with it.

  3. Review - ASTRA

    5.35 (Mar 19, 2008)

    This works perfectly!
I've installed it on my bootable flash drive and it's an essential diagnostic tool.

Kudos to the manufacturer for making this excellent DOS application, and keeping it going!

  4. Review - Portable Start Menu

    1.3 (Mar 19, 2008)

I've been using this for some time, and it works like a charm. Easy to use and works great on several of my flash drives. Recommended.

  5. Review - GoldWave

    5.23 (Feb 20, 2008)

    Simply the best editor, period.
Been using it for years and it's always "just worked".

  6. Comment - MusicGiants Joins DRM-free Bandwagon

    5.23 (Jun 22, 2007 - 8:23 AM)

I applaude MusicGiants for their use of DRM-free audio, but because of personal dislike of Windows Media...lossless or not...I cannot support their service.

When they start using FLAC, then I'll consider them. Until then, I'll remain a relic and continue to buy...gasp...compact discs.

  7. Comment - Best Buy Acquires Speakeasy ISP

  8. Comment - Caption Contest: Win Vista and Office!

Gates: Yeah! I've down with that! For Shizzle!

    Ballmer: RAGH! ARGH! UUUN!
(Sorry, he looks too much like Peter Boyle from Young Frankenstein...)

  9. Comment - Microsoft Buys Winternals, Sysinternals

    5.23 (Jul 18, 2006 - 2:34 PM)

    This is bad. Really bad.

Sysinternals and Wininternals were some of the best tools out there.

Gee thanks, folks. This just made my day. Sigh...

  10. Comment - RCA Opens Digital Vault to iTunes

    5.23 (May 2, 2006 - 9:30 AM)

This is all well and good, but if you don't use iTunes, don't like to download lossy versions of tunes, and still prefer to hear music on CD (or even better, LP), you're screwed.

Verve opened its vaults and re-released a lot of great Jazz albums, but only through iTunes. It's a shame, since there's some great music there, but I refuse to support the "dumbing down" of music any further, and won't buy them.
